Every hero needs a wizard

The Gandalf to your Frodo

The Yoda to your Luke Skywalker

The Mr. Miyagi to your Karate Kid

The Merlin to your King Arthur

On this hero’s journey, you are the protagonist, and you’ve just found your wizard!

VINCE x DOVEEN

Vibe Along

Roles: Coaching; Production; Mixing; Synths; Beat Programming

An unlikely collaboration between singer/songwriter DOVEEN from Lagos, Nigeria, and producer Vince from Amsterdam, Holland, takes you on a unique journey through the ages. As Doveen’s silky smooth vocal performance guides you through a poetic romance story, Vince combines Modern African vibes with the retrofuturistic sounds of the 1980’s.

For this song, Butterfly, beautifully written by @onedanmanband, we went for a dreamy and fantastical vibe. The beauty of today’s technology allowed for a fruitful collaboration, where I helped Dan record his guitars, a drum guide by Aaron Lueth, and finally his vocals, all remotely through Zoom. I had a blast and it was a privilege to have worked on it. 4 more to go!

HOPEFULLY HOLY FOOLS

Boyz In Tha Womb

Roles: Mixing; Mastering; Bass guitar

A deeply philosophical song with a slight comedic twist. This theatrical piece has three characters performed by the same artist. So in order to distinguish the characters, I made some slightly different mix choices for all three: – For the Narrator I chose to go with a deep, radio presenter-esque type sound. – For the “skeptic twin” I went with a darker sound, and a short and slightly warped reverb to convey the feeling of mischief and his “toothless mocking” – For the “faithful twin”, I went for a lighter touch, and a big angelic reverb. The result? Well, don’t take my word for it. Go check it out!
